Research
I have a bachelor degree in Forestry (1999) from the University of Lleida (Spain) and a PhD in Forest Ecology (2003) from the Blaise Pascal University (France). At present I am Associate Professor at the Department of Agriculture and Forest Engineering of the University of Lleida and researcher at the Joint Research Unit CTFC - AGROTECNIO. Since 2012 I am also associate researcher at the Centre for Ecological Research and Forestry Applications (CREAF).
My research interests focus on the analysis of the main factors driving forest dynamics and their capacity to respond to environmental changes. In this general context I am developing a set of studies at various scales (from the landscape to the species level) that include: (i) the characterization of the mechanisms that modulate forest resilience to natural and anthropogenic disturbances, (ii) the analysis of the factors that modulate mountain forest dynamics, and (iii) the assessment of the adaptive capacity of forest species to changing environmental conditions.
